Pain management in cancer patients

Under certain circumstances, organs affected by tumors might also expand, consequently causing pain. For these reasons, the cancer therapy also includes a pain therapy, to relieve severe pain, but also to relieve the patient of anxiety and stress and to improve his or her quality of life. TENS has proven itself as a form of non-drug therapy in this context. TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation and is best prescribed by a doctor, and may then also be performed by a physiotherapist or an appropriate caregiver.
