How To Choose The Right Heated Under-blanket?

Warmth and sleeping seem to be an excellent combination, especially when the warmth reaches those areas that want to be warmed, and when the effect lasts at least the time it takes to fall asleep. This can be easily achieved by using heated under-blankets. They are available in sizes for single or double beds, with standard sizes at 150 x 80cm or 200 x 90cm. If the entire bed area does not need to be covered, even smaller heated under-blankets satisfy the needs, such as the Beurer UB30 or the Bosotherm 2000 with 130 x 75cm size.
Almost all heated under-blankets are equipped with a control unit with illuminated temperature settings. The number of adjustable temperature settings ranges from 2, such as the Medisana HUB, to 9, such as the Beurer UB90. There are also differences in the control units. Those of the Medisana HDP or the double under-blanket HU 660 are ergonomically designed and equipped with a temperature display on both sides, so that they are suitable for right- and left-handed people. Another factor to consider when selecting the proper heated under-blanket is the power output in watts. The range starts at about 50-60 watts and reaches up to 100 watts 'Turbo Heat'. The more watts, the faster the under-blanket heats itself up to the desired temperature.
Also the material can play a decisive role. Many under-blankets are made out of cotton on the top and out of fleece on the bottom. The UB66 XXL is a heated under-blanket made out of fleece on both sides. The absolutely fluffy Beurer UB100 is made out of micro velcro on the top and out of fleece on the bottom. The heated under-blankets from Beurer also meet the requirements of the Öko-Tex Standard 100. Last but not least, the security is also very important. High quality heated under-blankets are generally equipped with overheating protection. Moreover, the APS technology provides security. This active safety system comes with a visual and audible temperature control and can be found, for example, in the Medisana HDP. The under-blankets of Beurer are equipped with the BSS ® overheating protection.
Heated under-blankets with separately or intensely heated foot zone are a specialty, such as the UB67, the UB90 and the UB100. The UB90 offers in addition a switch that automatically turns down the temperature after 3 hours, from the highest temperature levels to the lowest.
