The Feminaform can be used by women with vaginal agenesis. Vaginal agenesis is a congenital defect that occurs in 1 in 5000-7000 women. There is a malfunction in the development of the vagina before birth and the canal is not formed. Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser Syndrome is one condition in which vaginal agenesis occurs. Women can have a shorter or partially developed vagina or in serious cases no vagina at all. The development of the womb is also often disrupted. As the outside of the genitals usually look normal, the condition is often only discovered during puberty, for example if menstruation fails to occur.
In the case of vaginal agenesis the Feminaform should be used in consultation with the attending physician or therapist. Some women undergo surgery to reconstruct the vagina but others can achieve the same effect by using a vaginal dilator set. The vagina is gradually stretched by using a dilator to apply mild pressure in the vagina for 20 minutes a day.

Some forms of surgery require a patient to perform several months of postoperative exercises with the dilator to ensure the structure of the vagina remains intact while the extension heals.
