Radiotherapy in the vaginal area
Women that have undergone radiotherapy in the vaginal area can suffer inflammation of the vaginal wall as a side effect.

There can be a narrowing and shortening of the vagina after recovery from the inflammation. The vagina walls can also become dry and stick together, resulting in adhesions. This is known as vaginal stenosis.

Treatment with the Feminaform is often prescribed to keep the vagina supple and to prevent the formation of scar tissue after a course of radiotherapy in the vaginal area. Your radiotherapist or gynaecologist can instruct you in this.
Vaginal stenosis after surgery
Scar tissue resulting in narrowing and shortening can also occur after surgery. Your gynaecologist may then feel there are medical grounds for using the vaginal dilator set.
