Sculpted artificial nails can provide a great accessory for a special occasion but in order to ensure that the finish is perfect the right tools are needed. Kemmer Precision have over 50 years experience in the field of tungsten carbide cutting tools and although the majority of their products are aimed at more industrial industries, they also make a range of drill bits specifically for use when working with artificial nails.

There are four main types of drill bit available that are in different shapes so that a number of processes can be carried out with them. The processes that use tungsten carbide drill bits include blending the tip of the nail, filing down surfaces so that they are smooth, filing the underside of the artificial nail, shortening and shaping the nail to the desired shape and length and also drilling through the nail so that nail gems can be added to the nail. It is important to note that although tungsten carbide bits are highly effective when working on artificial nails, they are not suitable to be used on natural nails.

The 'Longlife' range of drill bits offer a range of properties that ensure that the bits will last for a long time and will also produce controlled effects. The material that the bits are made from is tungsten carbide, which has a very high resistance to abrasion and it also dissipates heat very quickly. This means that cutting edges will stay sharp and the drilling or shaping process will not melt the artificial nail material while still providing a high material removal rate. The material is also resistant to damage from chemical disinfectants. The attractive blue/purple color of the drill bits means that the drill bits are also eye-catching when on display.
