The Promed EMT-4 is one of these devices, that make both electrical nerve and muscular stimulation possible. You have the choice of five TENS programmes and six EMS programmes. Moreover you can install as well two programmes by yourself. Therefore is this Promed EMT4 perfect, for example for headache, back pains, circulation problems as well as for muscular workout.

      The Promed EMT-4 is predestined for the treatment of chronic and acute pain conditions, mobility impairments and for the preservation, building up, training and rehabilitation of muscles and muscle groups.

      Normally the TENS treatment is covered by your Swiss health insurance. Please contact your insurance company and your doctor. The classification number of Promed EMT-4 is 09.31.01-2.

      What is pain?
      Pain is the body's own early warning system. Feeling pain is important, as it indicates an abnormal condition within the body and serves as a warning to us before any further damage or injury occurs. However, long-term, persistant pains - often known as chronic pain - serve no obvious useful purpose once a diagnosis has been made. TENS was developed to soothe or eliminate certain types of chronic and acute pain.

      How does TENS work?
      TENS is a non invasive and drug-free method of treating pain. The TENS unit transmits soothing electrical pulses through the skin that stimulate the nerve (or nerves) in the area being treated. In most cases, this stimulation greatly reduces or even eliminates the sensation of pain, as it blocks the original pain signals to the brain.

      The benefits of TENS devices in pain management have been clinically proven in the case of many patients. To get the most out of your TENS unit, always talk to your doctor.
