In addition, you can choose from two different natural sounds that accompany the wake-up process.     • How does the Philips Wake-up Light work? Similar to the natural sunrise, the light of the light alarm clock gets increasingly brighter. During a period of 30 minutes, the Philips Wake-up Light simulates the light of a sunrise from yellow to bright yellow light. In addition to this you can select one of two natural birdsongs to wake you up. The sound will be audible at the alarm time and puts an end to the sunrise process. This sound begins gently and continues for the duration of one and a half minutes, getting louder and louder, until the set maximum volume. You may still want to lie in bed for a short while. If so, then it is enough to tap the surface of the light alarm clock once for muting the sound. The device will repeat the sound softly after 9 minutes to remind you to get up.

      Since not every person is light sensitive in the same way, you can select the best light intensity to suit you out of 10 levels. The light intensity can be also set to 200 lux, so that you can use the Philips Wake-up Light as a bedside lamp.
