      How does a heel spur develop?
      Heel spur can develop with age or result from serious overstressing of the foot during sports. Initially cracks form in the large tendon plate on the sole of the foot, then the body gradually deposits lime to patch up the cracks. The small outgrowth which then results on the heel is called heel spur. As soon as the cracks develop in the tendon plate, pain can be felt. Heel spurs can be prevented through additional cushioning under the heel and warming up the muscles before exercising. This ensures that the whole body weight does not bear down on your heels and presses them against the hard ground at each step. Furthermore, warming up the muscles ensures that the tendons become smoother and better supplied with blood. If heel spur has already formed, a good upholstery soothes the pain that otherwise becomes more intense with each step on hard ground.
